After breakfast, you will drive to Machame Gate, the starting point of the Machame Route. At the gate, you will meet your guide and the support team and complete the registration process. The trek starts through the lush rainforest, with a gradual ascent that takes around 5-6 hours to reach Machame Camp. Along the way, you will have a chance to see a variety of wildlife, including monkeys, birds, and various plant species.
Today's trek will take you through the heathlands and moorlands, offering stunning views of the Shira Plateau and the surrounding landscape. After breakfast, you will begin the ascent towards Shira Camp, which takes around 5-6 hours. The terrain becomes more challenging as you approach the campsite, with rocky and steep paths. Upon arrival at the campsite, you will have a chance to rest, take in the beautiful scenery, and prepare for the next day's climb.
Today's trek is a relatively short one, but it involves some steep ascents and descents. After breakfast, you will start the climb towards Lava Tower, which is around 4,630 meters above sea level. This part of the trek offers breathtaking views of the Western Breach and the Arrow Glacier. After reaching Lava Tower, you will begin the descent towards Barranco Camp, where you will spend the night.
Today's trek is one of the most challenging parts of the climb, as it involves climbing the Barranco Wall, which is a steep and rocky ridge. However, the rewards are worth the effort, as you will be treated to stunning views of the surrounding landscape. After reaching the top of the Barranco Wall, you will trek through the Karanga Valley towards Karanga Camp, where you will spend the night.
After breakfast, you will begin the ascent towards Barafu Camp, which is the final campsite before the summit. The climb takes around 4-5 hours, and the terrain becomes steeper and more challenging as you approach the campsite. Upon arrival, you will have a chance to rest, eat, and prepare for the final push towards the summit.
The final day of the climb is the most challenging and rewarding. You will wake up at around midnight and start the ascent towards the summit, Uhuru Peak, which is 5,895 meters above sea level. The climb takes around 6-7 hours, and you will reach the summit just in time for sunrise. The views from the summit are breathtaking, and you will have a chance to take photos and celebrate your achievement. After spending some time at the summit, you will begin the descent towards Mweka Camp, where you will spend the night. The descent takes around 5-6 hours and involves navigating through steep and rocky terrain
After breakfast, you will begin the final descent towards Mweka Gate, where you will receive your summit certificates. The descent takes around 3-4 hours and involves passing through the lush rainforest. Upon arrival at the gate, you will say goodbye to your guide and the support team before being driven back to your hotel for a well-deserved rest.
